6 Reasons to Join a Virtual Book Club

society 6, book club, life coaching, coffee, reading, personal growth, mindset

1. It’s an investment in yourself. The more you put into yourself, the more you will be open to receiving.

2. The support! We are all going through it and life gets so much easier when you have genuine people who are rooting for you because they are on their own good vibes journey.

3. Free Accountability Partners. We all know we are more likely to do something when we have someone following up with us. Not only will I be your personal cheerleader, I encourage you all to take initiative and check in with other members of this group.

4. Knowledge is power! We are what we surround ourselves with. Not only will we learn concepts and tools to help us, we will learn from each other’s struggles and encouragement.

5. It’s convenient. I’ve tried to start book clubs with no success because people have conflicting schedules. Since this group is virtual, we can meet anytime on the go. It is super easy.

6. It’s an act of self care. This isn’t going to be some stuff book club. My goal is for this to be something you look forward to. A place where we can discuss chapter topics and how it impacts our real lives.

All of this being said, head over to my Facebook group, Fierce Book Club for Creators of Personal Transformation if you love reading and have a passion for diving deep into your journey of healing and transformation. You will also get opportunities to be coached by me.

Blog Relaunch

Hey Beauties,
I know it’s been a while. I decided to relaunch the Vow to be Fierce blog and my goal is to be more consistent. Mostly, I use Instagram (@vowtobefierce) as my outlet to provide content. Honestly, because it’s convenient and I can post on the go at any time.
A lot has changed in this last year and I am shifting priorities. I want to build a more stable platform for you because you are what is important. The  reason I share pieces of me and personal development tips and tools is because I want you to succeed in life. I believe in each and every one of you whether I know you personally or not. I wholeheartedly believe we are each capable of creating a life with balance that feels right for us.
Oh, if you’re not already receiving my Fierce Love Letters, click here to receive soulful letters every week to your email. These love letters are very dear to me. It’s a chance for me to share with you in a more intimate way. These letters are meant to give you support, everyday tips and tools to living your most authentic life. You can always hit reply to the email with comments and questions.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how I can introduce personal development to people who are not really familiar with it. My idea of personal growth is really looking within ourselves and uncovering layers that no longer serve the life we want to live. We can get so caught up with going through the motions of life we forget to check in with ourselves. Sometimes we get lost in the sauce and wonder how we got ourselves there.
The key to living a happy life is self awareness and acceptance. You may be asking how the heck do I achieve that? Well, it’s less about achieving something and more about uncovering who you really are. Once you have a good sense of who you are, you start making decisions that propel your forward not hold you back.
This journey is not about your mama, your boyfriend or anyone else. This is about you. Asking yourself deep questions and taking action towards things that actually bring you joy will lead to more authenticity.
One way to increase self awareness is through reading.
Successful people have in common the passion and dedication for reading. There is no better way to soak up knowledge.
What better way to transition into September than to refocus your brain by reading books that inspire and motivate you to living a life with more purpose, growth, success and less guilt, shame, anger, distraction.
So here are the deets of The Fierce Book Club:
  • One book per month – financial, spiritual or personal development themed

Fierce Challenge: Create A Vision Board

vision board, creative, DIY, girls night, dreams, goals, travel, clothing, shoes, vow to be fierce

In order to accomplish your dreams, you need to visualize them and plan accordingly. Now, could plan all you want but action is the absolute most important thing needed to get things going.

Want to design your dream home, get a kick ass new job or change your state of mind? Create a vision board! It is so much easier to accomplish something that is constantly in front of us.

How many times have you written lists of things you want to do but never really get to them or forget about them completely? I’ve done this many times. We are visual creatures and having a physical representation of what we want to achieve keeps us focused on making decisions based on our goals not on our changing emotions.

I got together with some friends to create our very own vision boards. We whipped out some glitter, magazines and wine (of course).  The girls and I had so much fun planning and gabbing about our hopes for the future.

Pepper wants to be one of the girls. Her goal is clearly napping.

It may sound silly at first but I challenge you to think about the things you want in your life. Not necessarily materialistic, unless that’s what floats your boat. Think of the type of life you want to live and the things that are important to you. Find images and quotes that represent those values.

A vision board is a collection of images and words that represent you and your goals. You can put anything you want to achieve or attract on your board. Ever hear of the Law of Attraction? Mary Crimmins does a great job at explaining what a vision board is and how the Law of Attraction comes into play here.

Setting Fierce Goals and Making Decisions

Hi! I hope you completed the first Self Work cause that was an easy one. Today we are going to talk about something a little more challenging. Are you absolutely happy with where you are in life? Could it be better? The answer is yes. Life could always be better if you take the steps. The key is to set fierce goals and take steps to accomplish them.

Think about who you want to be now and in the future, not what you wanted to be when you were younger unless that answer is still your passion.

setting goals, decisions, fierceSometimes we get caught up in job titles and materialism. It can be stressful to try to figure everything out at once. Remember to go at your own pace. Sometimes people rush us or want to hold us back even with good intentions. No! You decide what is right for you. Think of what type of person you want to be.

Do you want to be a person who helps others? Do you want to travel? Get as specific as you can when you are setting goals. It makes it easier to accomplish once you pinpoint exactly what you want and how to get it. If you want to travel, decide a place  then do research. How much does airfare cost? Where will you stay? Think of all deciding factors then create a budget on how you will save to get there and give yourself a deadline. If you don’t then your dream will never become reality. I’ve made so many lists of what I want to do and the things I take the time to research are usually the things that actually get done.

Another tip when setting goals is to share them with someone you trust and admire. Knowing you told someone you respect holds you accountable and that is a great motivator.  If you’re not comfortable sharing your goals, I completely understand. It could be scary. Sharing your innermost desires makes you vulnerable because sometimes we think our ideas are crazy or not good enough and we are afraid of being judged. Try to fight through that fear because it hinders us. Our fears limit us from fulfilling our potential.

Who cares if someone thinks your dream is stupid. There are plenty of people itching to support that genius dream of yours. You need to believe in yourself to make things happen. It’s easy to let outside forces dictate what you do but that would mean you are living a life on someone else’s terms. The more you choose to listen to your voice, the happier you will be with the decisions you make.

Our decisions won’t always get us the outcome we want. The reality is we are meant to fail sometimes. It’s what make us stronger. Knowing you decided for yourself gives you fierce independence. If you do something only because someone else wanted, you will feel resentment for not doing what you truly thought was best for you.

September is a transitional month. What better time to set goals for your new life?

SELF WORK #2: Set 2 Goals. Think of 1 thing you would like to accomplish by the end of the month and 1 thing you would like to accomplish before the year is over. Write up a plan that will get you to completing those goals.

Cheers to setting goals and kicking ass doing it!

Fierce September

Fierce September

NOTEBOOKSHello September! I welcome you with excitement and curiosity. What greatness are you bringing to my life this new season? I remember looking forward to the beginning of the school year because that meant new school supplies and vowing to stay organized. The nerd in me smiles. Even though I am not in school anymore I still find reasons to buy fun notebooks and a planner that I usually end up forgetting about come October.

I am declaring September to be the month we take charge and set goals for ourselves.  This is your time to really shine. Celebrate all that is Fierce in your world. If you haven’t taken the vow, now is the time! You’ve had all summer to be lazy. Set the path for your future self. Are you excited? I am!

Ready for some homework? Before you flip out on me, hear me out. This is more like (self)work. It’s going to be fun. I promise.

SELF WORK #1: Do something spontaneous. Remember that thing you have been itching to do but never find the right time? The thing you have been wanting to do but keep finding excuses because you’re scared. DO it today! Ask that hottie on a date. Take the day off. Sign up for that art class. Turn off your phone. Whatever you do, it should be something that makes you feel happy.

Stay tuned for more Fierce tips and how to celebrate your wonderful life. We all have things to be grateful for and we do not appreciate it as often as we should. My intention for sharing this self work is for you to take steps to feel more confident, productive and happy with where your life is going.

If you decide to do something spontaneous, I would love to hear about your experiences. Please share in the comments below or email me at
